Albania

New Life's involvement with Albania started with one of those "Jesus" moments. In 1992 Allan and Ros Smith were staying in Corfu and decided to take a day trip to Saranda in southern Albania as, after the fall of communism the year before, the country had only just opened to tourists.

On their brief day trip they found unimaginable poverty in this European country and Ros immediately fell in love with the people. With the help of other churches and individuals, New Life started to take aid to the country. Ros was determined to learn Albanian, which she did, although her modesty causes her to say that she is not very good at it!

Now 13 years on Allan and Ros still visit Saranda twice a year and have input into two churches as well as giving aid to the needy. If you are interested in this work please contact us and we will put you on our Albanian Newsletter mailing list.
